I noticed someone had said to share the cooking stories, and I really only have one good cooking story. My mom and sisters still tell this story whenever cooking comes up.
When I was younger (12 or so), I was left baby sitting my sisters (would have been ages 6, 5 and 3) for an evening. I decided it'd be fun to make up a recipe and have them try it. The recipe I made up involved all of the spices in my mom's cabinet, along with all the powdered milk, all the bouillon I could find, etc.
Now the points of interest in the story are different depending on who tells it.
Sisters: And then while he was babysitting us, he made us taste this horrible potion he made up, it almost made me throw up!
Mom: And then while babysitting the girls, he poured over a hundred dollars worth of spices into a pot, it made the house smell terrible as well.
